  • Tsuchikage Residence

The Tsuchikage Residence is the building that houses the Tsuchikage during their reign. It is the largest structure within the village and has a cone shaped roof. It houses the Tsuchikage's office and several other administrative offices, including the Mission Assignment Office. The bottom portion of this structure is actually the Academy.

  • Academy

The Academy is a shared building, with the Tsuchikage Residence occupying the upper half of the structure. The lower half is the Academy, which consists of both a training center for Academy Students, as well as an administrative side. The building is the tallest structure in the village. The building can be identified by the giant sign that adorns the top, with the kanji for Earth () on it. The classrooms in the academy are large and have high ceilings, based on a theory that larger classrooms lead to expansive education, expanding even to the blackboard itself. In front of the blackboard is a podium, situated far from the students' desks and put in a position where the teacher can view everyone at once.

  • Training Grounds

Five training grounds used by Shinobi to better themselves. Located on a high plateau overlooking the village, the training grounds are surrounded by a metal fence, with gates spread out across the perimeter that Shinobi enter through. Since the five training grounds are situated at on the high mountain plateau, each one is visible from another. The grounds consist of mostly rocky terrain, with patches of shrubbery dotting the area. The total radius of the grounds is about fifty kilometers.

  • Downtown Pavilion

The wide expanse of Iwagakure's market and town district pavilion is always bustling. Shops and other businesses litter the main streets. A town square serves as a central meeting place for many travelers and villagers. The pavilion marks the central building within the village, with the town square marking the center of the pavilion. One can look up to see the Tsuchikage's residence and the even taller mountain ranges high above them.

  • Town Residences

This area of the village consists of most of the villager's homes. The houses are usually larger, town-homes stacked on top of one another. Clan compounds are located within this area as well, and are usually fenced-in communities that hold their houses and Clan meeting halls. The Shinobi dorms are located in this area as well.

  • Village Gates and Outskirts

The gates to the village are located here, along with the checkpoint that is used to check the bags and travel permissions of foreign travelers. Two Chuunin stand guard at the gate at all times. The outskirts consist of the path up and through the mountain range, before coming to the gates of the village. On the inside, paths wind through a section of the mountain range before heading up and into the village.
